The Brasilian Bar-B-Que Party
It's Sunday and you’ve invited a gang of people over to watch the “big game” on TV. Bar-B-Que’s are pretty typical for this type of gathering, but we dare you to add a little ethnic splash with this buffet. Brazil is the world’s largest grower and the biggest consumer of beans and the national dish is feijoada; a rich, liquid stew of black beans in which several kinds of meat are submerged. We've included this authentic dish as well as a modified version of churrascaria - meat roasted on a spit over a fire. In our menu, we offer grilled marinated meats & shrimp cooked on your Bar-B-Que or broiled in your oven. This menu consists of mostly authentic recipes, but go ahead and add some tortilla chips, guacamole & salsa. Brazilian food is healthy, flavorful and simple to prepare. Cold beers and margaritas go well with this menu. Blend up some lime and strawberry margaritas for your guests. Then sit back and enjoy the game!
We have provided you with our party menu and a sample recipe below; Fresh Tomato Salad with Red Wine Vinaigrette, so you have a better idea of what the recipes are like. Try it out on us, if you like it download the entire party or purchase the Carefree Gourmet Buffets book.

Fresh Tomato Salad with Red Wine Vinaigrette
Number of Servings: 12-15
Serving Dishes: Clear glass bowl or pedestal bowl
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: None
Can You Double: Yes
Can You Freeze: No
- 24 roma tomatoes or 12 large vine ripe tomatoes
- 1 T sugar
- 1 bottle (24 oz) red wine vinaigrette dressing
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 bunch green onions, sliced into thin slivers
Rinse tomatoes. Slice into bite size chunks (about 1 inch pieces) and place into mixing bowl. Add sliced green onions (white & some green parts), reserve some for garnish, and half the bottle of vinaigrette to tomatoes in the bowl. Toss together until well blended. Add a little sugar, which helps to cut the acidity. Add salt and pepper. Toss again and taste. Keep in refrigerator until ready to serve. Transfer to pretty glass serving bowl and garnish with remaining green onions.
